I won’t need to explain much about Capt Sir Tom Moore for it matters not in the world where you live, you have likely heard of him. When Capt Tom Moore walked 100 laps in his garden to raise money for the NHS just before his 100th birthday. He started as he meant to go on… walking with his Zimmer frame as he had had aa broken hip in 2018. He began by hoping to raise £1000. He ended up raising £33,000+.
The power of a an adorable old chap with determination won a nation’s heart. And a few others, indeed. Over 125,000 100th birthday cards were sent him from not only all over Britain but from America, Canada, and many other countries.

If one wanted a perfect “bucket list”, Capt Tom created his by doing, not by writing down what he hoped to achieve.
Raise lots of money for NHS – tick
Get a song on Number 1 of the Top 40 – tick
Receive a knighhood – tick

Here is the thing – like anything else he accomplished in his long life, he didn’t do it for the glory. He didn’t sit down one day and think, “If I do this, then maybe I will get that..” He just did things and things happened. Good things happened. He influenced, without being an “influencer”. Many others whom you might not expect to be able to pull off such feats began doing just that because Capt Tom did it. A 104 year old woman completed a marathon by walking laps near her Berkshire home, at the age of 104.
“Tom, I’ve done it,” she laughed, as she finished her challenge.
He just made people want to be “more Capt Tom”. To be their better selves.
I could go on and on but if you have not been living under a barrel you likely know much more about this lovely fellow than I could write.
When I heard the news on the BBC I was in a heap of tears. The utter unfairness of it all I cried. But after I got hold of myself, I had to smile. He did more for the world in his last year of life than most of us do in all our years. He did what he was sent to do. He fought bravely in WWII. He raised a loving family. He raised money to help an NHS facing crisis from Coronavirus. He made us all smile and want to be better people. He was kind and positive and always said it will be alright. Now we have one more angel in the Astral plane watching over us. We will never walk alone

I miss your musings and teaching. I hope all is well with you and yours.
